I drank a glass of cold, yummy fresh milk after replacing our front doorknob. Now I feel aweful, like my body didn't enjoy that.
Damn what was I thinking?
----------
I watched two anime based Holliwood movies on DVD this weekend - Blood: The Last Vampire and Dragonball Evolution.
*smacks hand across the forehead*
I was damn anxious to see the live action Blood and check if Gianna pulled the role of Saya off, but damn, everything was so wrong about the film.
If you are familiar with the anime and haven't seen the Holliwood version and are planning to see it, stop reading now because I'm about to say some nasty spoilers.
Gianna (or Jeon Ji Hyun) is, by nature, hot and all that (check out her Giordano commercial
[link], she played Saya, the vampire who slays vampire-like creatures (chyropterans as referred to in the anime). There's something about Gianna that just couldn't pull off a bad ass Saya attitude. Too soft. Plus it was obvious that she was struggling with her English and so the emotion and delivery of her lines were affected (also that other asian chick who played Onigen, the rival).
I didn't see the point why they had to tag that American girl along. Her character was so insignificant and useless.
And the CGI of the monsters? Oh, for heaven's sake, no!!! It didn't even look like CGI, more like stop motion animation. Brought me back to the days when I was so amazed by the technology in Clash of the Titans (wait, that's too old, can I just say Chicken Run?). No, really, it's that bad! Man, no wonder the movie was a flop.
Although the plot of the original anime was very flat and basic (don't get me wrong, I loved it), this Holliwood version made it bad.
Dragonball Evolution was not as lame, but you have to admit, putting it in a current day setting was not the greatest idea to adapt an anime giant such as Dragonball. I liked the Asian chick with the cleavage though. (oh you pervert!)
So that's how I wasted my time. As I would always say: I should have drawn.

But... cleavage? Maybe. LOL
